The gas pedal of the Simpang Susun Semanggi project, as part o the Semanggi Flyover revitalization, project is being stepped on harder. The project aims at easing the severe traffic hams in the Semanggi and Senayan area, and is set to be completed in July 2017.

PT Wijaya Kerja (Wika) is the project’s executor and is now installing the box girders 45 kilometer along Jalan Jenderal Sudirman road. The installment will be extended 80 kilometers along Jalan Gatot Subroto road.

Launched since April 2016, the project has entered its 44th week and is now 50 percent completed. Up to 175 from 295 box girders has been installed.

The strategy to ease the traffic jams is to add to new ring roads, one that leads from Grogol, West Jakarta, Blok M, South Jakarta, and the other will connect Cawang, East Jakarta, and Bundaran Hotel Indonesia, Central Jakarta.

Up to Rp360 billion has been budgeted for the project. The fund is provided by PT Mitra Panca Persada, a subsidiary of Japanese company Mori Company, as an incentive for the Jakarta Administrator or allowing the company to raise the Building Floor Coefficient of the building it is constructing.
