COLORS OF JAKARTA GUBERNATORIAL ELECTION

Since the morning, Jakartans were enthusiastic in welcoming the regional election. They visited the nearest polling stations around them to vote the next leader of Jakarta.

Jakarta Gubernatorial Election that was held last Wednesday, 15th of January 2017, went smoothly and orderly.  After the candidates campaigning their visions and missions for three months, people of Jakarta will decide their next leader for the next five years.

Three Jakarta governor candidates and their running mates, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono – Sylviana Murni, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama – Djarot Saiful Hidayat, and Anies Baswedan – Sandiaga Uno hope that 7 million of Jakartans will vote one of them to become the winner.

Since the morning, Jakartans were enthusiastic in welcoming the regional election. They visited the nearest polling stations around them to vote the next leader of Jakarta. Just like in Bukit Duri, South Jakarta. The area was crowded and became a center of attention as the locals once protested the eviction executed by Jakarta Governor incumbent candidate Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama.

The enthusiasm of Jakarta people in the election was also visible at a hospital in Central Jakarta. Although the patients were sick and laying on the bed, or using a wheelchair, the patients paid a visit to the polling stations provided by the hospital.

Corruption convicts who are serving their punishments under the custody of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) also gave their vote. Under the police officers’ watch, and wearing the orange vest, the convicts also voted the next leader of Jakarta from the voting booth. (Gres.news/Edy Susanto)
