Ciledug-Tendean Elevated Busway to Operate Soon
The roads will make Transjakarta buses move swiftly and make passengers comfortable on the way to their destination.
The overpass development for Ciledug-Blok M-Tendean Transjakarta busway has been finished. The overpass becomes the longest elevated busway in Jakarta.
The track has been tested using a Transjakarta bus that stopped in the existing 12 bus stops, and the buses travel time have been estimated. The Jakarta administration spent Rp2.5 trillion for the project.
Gres.news got the chance to see and check the elevated busway that’s been constructed since early 2015. The road structures have been completed. Asphalt and road signs have been completely installed from Tendean to Ciledug. However, some supporting facilities like stairs in JORR bus stop and escalators in Cipulir bus stop are still not finished.
One of the roads, the road between Tirtayasa bus stop in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta and TransTv bus stop got tested, and the result shows that the road has been fully and neatly covered in asphalt.
The road will make Transjakarta buses move swiftly and make passengers comfortable on the way to their destination. Transjakarta bus passengers can also see high buildings in Jakarta when they cross the overpass.
Transjakarta still continues the tests and simulations on the new busway. They still need two to three months to finish the simulations. They also hold commissioning tests to train the drivers, and they still need to complete the systems for the bus stops.
The road development was handled by eight different contractors in eight different locations. PT Transjakarta has targeted to operate the busway next June 2017, or on the Anniversary of Jakarta.
