PGN Builds Natural Gas Station in East Jakarta on 52nd Anniversary

On the 52nd Anniversary of PGN on 13th of May, PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) completed the development of a natural gas station (SPBG). The SPBG that’s located at Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai, Klender, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta is the 11th SPBG that’s built and operated by PGN.

"The new SPBG is a present for the 52nd Anniversary of PGN, and it shows the commitment of PGN in developing natural gas infrastructure in Indonesia," said the Commercial Director of PT Gagas Energi Indonesia, Dian Kuncoro, in Jakarta, Monday (15/5). Gagas Energi is PGN’s subsidiary that manages CNG (Compressed Natural Gas), LNG, and many other types of gas.

The SPBG has the capacity to distribute 1 million MMscfd, and it’s equipped with 2 NGV dispensers and one trailer dispenser. NGV (Natural Gas Vehicle) dispenser for transportation, and trailer dispenser for GTM (Gas Transport Module) as CNG transportation mode for industrial and commercial customers.

"Besides SPBG, we also operate 4 Mobile Refueling Unit (MRUs) The SPBG and MRUs are spread in Jakarta, West Java, East Java, Sumatera, and Riau Archipelago," Dian said.

Dian added that the SPGB development shows PGN’s commitment to support the government’s program to accelerate the conversion of oil-based fuel (BBM) to gas-based fuel (BBG), particularly in the transportation sector. The program is also mentioned in the Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Regulation No.25/2017 on the Acceleration of Gas-Based Fuel Utilization for Road Transportation.

"We will keep our commitment to develop the national gas infrastructure. Now, we’re developing SPBG infrastructure by building and operating SPBG in Cilegon and Serang," Dian said.
