TelkomGroup Supports MSMEs to Go Global

Jakarta, September 21, 2017 - To support Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia to penetrate the global market in the digital era, PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (Telkom) is working hard in optimizing the existence of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Creative House that’s locally known as RKB to improve the knowledge and competitiveness of MSME entrepreneurs in Indonesia, particularly through a workshop about the operations of online marketing and product sales listing in Blanja.com e-commerce website.

Telkom’s Director of Wholesale & International Service, Abdus Somad Arief, explained they’re committed to support the quality improvement of MSMEs in Indonesia through the utilization of digital technology.

"TelkomGroup fully supports the digitalization of MSMEs in Indonesia with ICT infrastructures that reach all regions in Indonesia with the global access so it enables MSME entrepreneurs across Indonesia, especially MSMEs that are assisted by RKB, to start their business by using digital technology. Besides that, on application aspect, TelkomGroup also supports the implementation of digital app-based MSMEs management and helps the listing of MSME products in Blanja.com e-commerce website," said the man who’s well-known as ASA in a press conference in Indonesia Business Development (IBD) Expo 2017 at Jakarta Convention Center, Thursday (21/9).

In managing RKB, SOEs will go through 3 steps, starting from Go Modern, Go Digital, and Go Online. "Go Modern" starts from guiding the registration on www.rkb.id website, product standardization, and branding management training. After that, MSME entrepreneurs will "Go Digital" to get a training in implementing digital apps, social media, and products automation. Ultimately, MSME entrepreneurs will "Go Online". They will be trained to make a website, listing in Blanja.com e-commerce website, and get a training in marketing and motivation about how to grow and inspire the other MSMEs.

ASA added that MSME entrepreneurs in many regions respond positively to the founding of RKB. "Since SOEs developed RKB in 2016, there are 441,514 MSMEs that have registered in all RKB. It shows the enthusiasm of MSME entrepreneurs with their best products, they want to improve the competence and quality of MSMEs so they could compete on the global level," ASA said.

Until September 2017, Telkom has built 37 RKBs across Indonesia that have assisted 2,857 MSMEs. 3,548 products of MSMEs guided by Telkom’s RKB have been registered in Blanja.com. Besides that, MSMEs guided by Telkom’s RKB have done more than 3,500 transactions in Blanja.com with the total value of Rp473.3 million.

The founding and management of RKB by SOEs is a form of SOEs synergy to explore the potential of MSMEs in Indonesia as a driver of the national economy. RKB is also a part of "SOEs Present for the Nation" program that’s initiated by the SOE Ministry as an effort to empower the public economy. RKB is expected to improve the quality of MSME entrepreneurs so they would have access to the global level.
