Jakarta, 24 November 2017 - PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (Telkom) through its subsidiary PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia International (Telin) has signed the agreement on majority shares trade with TS Global Network Sdn Bhd (TSGN), a dominant satellite communications service provider from Malaysia. The majority shares of TSGN have been handed to Telin through the signing of shares trade agreement with the Managing Director of Telin, Faizal R. Djoemadi, CEO of TSGN, Kent Ho, and shareholders of TSGN, The signing was witnessed by Telkom’s Director of Wholesale & International Service, Abdus Somad Arief, and Chairman of TSGN, Datuk Hod Parman, in Cyberjaya, Malaysia, Friday (24/11).
TSGN is the biggest VSAT service provider in Malaysia who has many enterprise customers from many industries, such as plantation, mining, administration, and banking. Besides that, TSGN also has affiliation companies in Brunei and Myanmar.
Managing Director of Telin, Faizal R. Djoemadi, said that satellite business doesn’t know state limits, Telin needs an experienced partners who have existed in the regional market. Therefore, cooperating with TSGN expands the communications satellite market in Malaysia and the other regions.
"The acquisition of TSGN also aligns with the vision of Telin to become the Global Digital Hub. The acquisition is expected to improve Telin in accessing the regional enterprise market, particularly Malaysia, Brunei, and Myanmar," Faizal said after the signing.
At the same time, Telkom’s Wholesale & International Service Director Abdus Somad Arief asserts that the synergy with TSGN is a strategic move to develop satellite market in Asia Pacific.
"The synergy opens a bigger opportunity for TelkomGroup to become the main player in the satellite business, which aligns with the company’s strategic goal to become one of the top 3 satellite service providers in Asia," Abdus Somad Arief stated.
