Jakarta, 22 December 2017 - PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (Telkom) has officially started the activities of TelkomGroup Alert Post for Christmas and New Year 2017/2018 to ensure the telecommunications infrastructure and services of TelkomGroup work optimally in facing the sudden increase of national telecommunications traffic. The launching of the surveillance post is marked by a video conference led by Managing Director of Telkom, Alex J. Sinaga, from Private Automatic Branch Exchange (PABX) Station in Pematang Siantar on Friday (22/12), followed by all officials of Telkom from different regions and subsidiaries of TelkomGroup across Indonesia.
Separately, Network & IT Solution Director of Telkom, Zulhelfi Abidin, said that Telkom as the biggest telecommunication services provider in Indonesia is working hard to guarantee all services are stable and reliable all the time by operating 87 posts spread in 34 provinces across Indonesia.
"Telkom anticipates the sudden increase of telecommunications traffic, especially on religious holidays and certain celebration moments. The anticipation is done through several activities in all posts that operate for 24 hours, such as monitoring the infrastructure, services, and mitigation so Telkom could take an action immediately when facing a problem. We do this to ensure that the guarantee that our services work optimally although the communications traffic increases significantly in all of a sudden," Zulhelfi Abidin said.
TelkomGroup also prepares supporting devices and infrastructure and deploys thousands personnel in all posts. "We have prepared 592 units of Mobile GraPARI, 103 units of BTS Mobile Telkomsel, and 816 units of IndiHome car, and we have deployed 15,910 personnel in all posts to maintain our services in all 700 public areas, such as religious facilities, mall & indoor areas, and the other important areas. We do this to anticipate the needs for telecommunications that are predicted to reach the suddenly increasing traffic peak on December 22, 2017, until January 3, 2018," Zulhelfi Abidin explained.
The presence of TelkomGroup Alert Post for Christmas & New Year is expected to satisfy customers and the public in communicating with their families and friends in the special moment. SOEs Share with Orphans in Nusa Tenggara Timur
esides paying attention to the infrastructure and telecommunication services, TelkomGroup also holds corporate social responsibility (CSR) events to celebrate the joy of Christmas and new year through programs called SOEs Present for the Nation and TelkomGroup Shares.
To celebrate Christmas and New Year 2017/2018, SOEs Present for the Nation program will share with orphans. In the program, Telkom and PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III (Pelindo III) gave Christmas and new year presents and compensations to 1,000 orphans and provided assistance to 17 orphanages and 4 churches at the auditorium in Nusa Tenggara Timur Governor Office in Kupang, Nusa Tenggara Timur, Friday (22/12).
The secretary of State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) Ministry Imam Aprianto Putro, SOE Ministry’s Deputy of Restructuring Aloysius Kiik Ro, Governor of Nusa Tenggara Timur Frans Lebu Raya, Chairman of Nusa Tenggara Timur Legislative Council (DPRD), Human Capital Management Director of Telkom Herdy R. Harman, and Managing Director of Pelindo III I Gusti Ngurah Askhara Danadiputra were present and shared the gifts directly.
SOEs Share program was launched simultaneously in seven capital provinces with Christian as the majority people, which consist of Kupang - Nusa Tenggara Timur, Jayapura - Papua, Manokwari - Papua Barat, Manado - Sulawesi Utara, Pontianak - Kalimantan Barat, Ambon - Maluku and Medan - Sumatra Utara. The assistance is distributed to orphans and foundation or orphanages with Christianity background.
Meanwhile, TelkomGroup Shares program was conducted by distributing renovation fund and celebrating the 19th Christmas in churches/foundation in different regions across Indonesia.
Human Capital Management Director of Telkom, Herdy R. Harman, said the renovation fund helps to rehabilitate one of the old churches passed by Dutch missionaries in Adonara, Nusa Tenggara Timur, which is Paroki St. Martinus Hinga Church. "The renovation is a Christmas and new year present for people in Adonara, Nusa Tenggara Timur, which is an adequate religious facility. The renovation of Paroki St. Martinus Hinga Church is also the effort of TelkomGroup of maintaining one of the historical buildings in Indonesia," said Herdy R. Harman.
Christmas and new year is the right moment to improve services for all stakeholders and share with each other. "Through different CSR activities during Christmas and new year, TelkomGroup wants to share with each other and glorify the spirit of tolerance and love between religious people, especially sharing happiness with orphans so they could also feel the joy of Christmas and new year," Herdy R. Harman said.
