From behind the prison bars, Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama sent a message to his supporters to stop their demonstration that causes a traffic jam. Ahok reminds them that their action would be used by irresponsible parties.
He’s worried that some parties would use the supporters if they continue their demonstration. They would collide with the opposing parties who don’t like their struggle.
Ahok’s letter was read by his wife, Veronica Tan, in a press conference at Gado-Gado Boplo, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (23/5).
The nonactive Governor of Jakarta also reminds that the demonstration staged by his supporters would cause a traffic jam that disturbs the citizen of Jakarta.
"It’s not right to stage demonstrations in the process that I’ve been through," Ahok said in his letter.
In the letter, Ahok also told the reason why he withdrew his appeal that was filed on Monday (22/5) after his lawyer team entered the appeal brief. (dtc/rm)
