JAKARTA, GRES.NEWS - President Joko Widodo, or Jokowi, said, from 126 million land lots across Indonesia, only 46 percent are certified. Yet, land certificates are important as they are evidence of one’s ownership of the land.

Therefore, the President said this is a major homework for the government. "This is homework that we have to do in the morning, daytime and at night," said President Joko Widodo, in an event to present 1,535 land certificates to landowners in East Kalimantan, Thursday (13/7).

According to Jokowi, from the 2.7 million hectares of land in East Kalimantan, only 900,000 or 33 percent of the land are certified.

Jokowi vows to continue to monitor the land certification program and urges the public to report uncertified land.

"We target all land lots to be certified," he said, quoted by setkab.go.id.
