JAKARTA, GRES.NEWS – The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fishery Susi Pudjiastuti have been firm in eradicating illegal fishing in Indonesia. This is leading to efforts to bring her down from her position.

According to Susi, President Joko Widodo had warned her that her task to eradicate mafias in the fishing sector will not be easy and there would be many challenges.

"Mr. President had told me that some are upset with the program to eradicate illegal fishing and the dissolution of Petral," Susi said, Friday (14/7).

Susi further stated that some people who do not like the government’s initiative had made efforts to bring down a number of policymakers. She revealed how she was offered Rp5 trillion to resign, which she turned down. The efforts did not stop there.

Meanwhile, National Intelligence Agency (BIN) Chairman, Budi Gunawan, said there are forces who are attempting to create chaos in the country and one of their schemes is to bring down Susi.

Budi said BIN is conducting massive intelligence operations in the economy sector. He revealed that there are efforts to eradicate local products.

"We have witnessed the strong flow of counterfeit, low quality products into the market, especially from China. They are cheap. The efforts are compromising the national independency in the economic sector," Budi said, Jakarta, Thursday (13/7).
