Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Ignasius Jonan supports the President’s idea. "If there are many electric cars in Indonesia, we won’t need to import fuel as cars consume electricity. We can produce the electricity using coal, which is available domestically. There’s also natural gas. We can minimize fossil fuel import. If the plan is realized, the platform for the national upstream oil and gas sector will change," Jonan said, recently. (rm)
