JAKARTA, GRES.NEWS – Telegram Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Pavel Durov has met the Minister of Communications and Informatics, Rudiantara, on Tuesday (1/8), at the has met the Ministry of Communications and Informatics headquarters in Jakarta.
The meeting was a follow-up on said ministry’s policy to block 11 Domain Name System (DNS) belonging to Telegram on 14 July 2017.
"I appreciate Telegram for responding quickly to the issue," Rudiantara said, quoted by setkab.go.id.
Meanwhile, Pavel Durov said he has the same commitment as Indonesia in the issue of terrorism.
"Telegram is highly concerned with global terrorism threat, especially for countries such as Indonesia. It is important for the Government of Indonesia and Telegram to make a Joint Statement on the matter," Durov said.
The Ministry of Communications and Informatics, Samuel A Pangerapan, said Telegram has shown its good intention to manage and deal with issues hat threaten nations, such the spread of contents promoting terrorism and contents that teach radical teachings. Therefore, we will recover the 11 DNS that belongs to Telegram. "We will recover them this week," Semmy said. (mag)
