JAKARTA, GRES.NEWS – House of Representatives Vice Chairman, Fahri Hamzah, criticizes the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK)’s break-in operation in Dassok Village, Pamekasan, in the Rp100 million (US$7,506.95) Village Fund corruption.

Fahri synically called KPK’s program "KPK Enters Village ".

"This is ‘KPK Enters Village’ program. There used to be ABRI (Republic of Indonesia Armed Force) Enters Village," Fahri said, Jakarta, Sunday (6/8).

Fahri said KPK should focus on corruption that involved a lot of money, such as the Rumah Sakit Sumber Waras hospital and the Jakarta Reclamation cases.

"They are ignoring the big cases while catching the small fishes. They are given cannons to shoot elephants, but return home with zebra doves," he said.

Fahri continued to say that regional government inspectorates are already supervising spending of Village Funds.

"There are 37,000 villages. Are they (KPK) going to supervise them all. Don’t try to be a hero shooting at all places," Fahri said.
