JAKARTA, GRES.NEWS – House of Representatives Commission IX Vice Chairman, Saleh Partaunan Daulay, said the government should revoke the license of RS Mitra Keluarga hospital to set an example to other hospitals. He reminded that Indonesia will participate in the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) program in 2019.
Saleh explained that the Social Security Provider (BPJS) program does not mean that the people are getting free medical treatment as the hospital bills are paid by the government through dues that the public pays.
"Our budget for the program reaches around Rp34 trillion, so questions were raised whenRS Mitra Keluarga returned money that the customer had paid," Saleh said, who is a National Mandate Party (PAN) politician, Jakarta, Tuesday (12/9), quoted by dpr.go.id.
There also questions whether the hospital complied with the Law on Health, according Saleh. He reminded that all hospitals must prioritize humanity, instead of commerce.
"The government is obliged to protect the people. The death of baby Debora has touched our hearts to make measures. Everyone must make measures, including the press," he said. (mag)
