JAKARTA, GRES.NEWS – The Soekarno-Hatta Airport Railway will be completed and may start operating a month ahead of schedule,, namely late November, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi has announced.
Budi made the announcement after launching the Bekasi-Cikarang Commuter line, who went straight off to the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Railway construction site.
According to him, the construction – the station and the railway line – is running according to schedule with 90 percent already completed and 100 percent of the sought land obtained.
"The construction is running on schedule. The station will start operating on 25 November," Budi said, at the construction site in Tangerang, Sunday (7/10).
Previously, PT Railink president director Heru Kuswanto said the station will start operating in December, with the infrastructure development completed in October and trials would be performed in November.
"Based on a meeting with the President’s staff, all the infrastructure will be completed in October, so trials can be conducted in November. In fact, if things run well the station can start operating in November or December," he said, Jakarta, Saturday (30/9).
Meanwhile, as a start, the railway line will carry passengers from Sudirman Baru Stasion. (dtc/mag)
