JAKARTA, GRES.NEWS – Concerned with the stagnancy in the Novel Baswedan investigation, President Joko Widodo said he will summon National Police Chief Tito Karnavian.
"I will summon him to inquire the investigation’s progress," he said, to reporters in Bekasi, Jawa Barat, Friday (Nov.3), quoted by setkab.go.id.
It has been 200 days since the investigation commenced, but no real progress has been reported. "I want the case to be clear and solved," the President continued.
President Joko Widodo had summoned Tito to inquire the investigation’s progress. In the meeting, he instructed the police chief to solve the case quickly.
"He instructed me to solve the case as quickly as possible. That was his instruction, but we have explained to him the phases that we have taken. We want to solve the case quickly, but sometimes there are problems," Tito said, at the Istana Merdeka palace, Jakarta, Monday (Oct.31).
Tito also underscored that no police general is involved in the acid attack on Novel Baswedan, a senior investigator at Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). (rm)
