JAKARTA, GRES.NEWS – The Anies-Sandi Administration is moving quickly to take down telecommunication towers operating without any permit.
"Telecommunication towers are spreading like mushroom. We need to organize them to prevent chaos. The Jakarta Government must dismantle the towers that are operating without any permit," said Muhammad Alipudin, Executive Director, Jakarta Research and Public Policy (JRPP), in a press release sent to gres.news, Sunday (5/11).
Alipudin further stated that the illegal towers are hurting Jakarta financially.
"To build a telecommunication tower, the developer must obtain a Rights-to-Build Permit (IMB). Once the tower starts operating, the owner must pay retribution to the Jakarta Government. Potential tax from such business is huge," Alipudin said.
According to a report from the Jakarta Communications and Information Office, there are up to 6,000 illegal telecommunication towers spread across the city. (mag)
