JAKARTA, GRES.NEWS – The Jakarta Corruption Court on Monday (Nov.27) has sentenced PT Duta Graha Indonesia (PT DGI) ex-director Dudung Purwadi to 4 years and 8 months in prison, and fined him Rp250 million, replaceable with 3 months additional prison term.

Dudung was ruled guilty of corruption in the project to construct a hospital at Universitas Udayana and in a project to build an Athlete’s Complex in Sumatera Selatan in 2009-2010.

Dudung participated in the distribution of the illegal fees and embezzled fund from the projects for himself.

The panel of judges ruled that Dudung hurt the government Rp25.9 billion (US$1,918,376.74).

Dudung and Idris, another suspect in the case, met Nazaruddin, as the government’s representative in the hospital project, to rig the bid, so that his company can win in exchange for 15 percent of the project’s value.

The judges also ruled that Dudung bribed Nazaruddin Rp10.2 billion through his companies, PT Anak Negeri, PT Anugrah Nusantara and Group Permai. (dtc/rm)
