AGO Sends Former Dean of Jambi University to Jail

JAKARTA, GRES.NEWS – The Attorney General’s Office (AGO) charges the former Dean of Jambi University, Prof. Aulia Tasman, to 8 years prison. Aulia is found committing corruption in health equipment project worth Rp20 billion.

Aulia was executed after the Intelligence Team of Jambi High Prosecutors’ Office captured him at the parking lot at Jambi University.

"Jambi High Prosecutors’ Office Intelligence Team has succeeded capturing a convict named Prof. Aulia Tasman at a parking lot in Jambi University," said the Junior Attorney General for Intelligence, Jan S Maringka to detikcom, Friday (5/1).

According to Jan, Aulia was captured on Thursday (4/1) around 17.10 WIB (West Indonesia Time-Zone). After he got captured, the convict was brought to Jambi High Prosecutors’ Office to complete the administration process.

The execution for Aulia is based on the Supreme Court Ruling No.1629K/PID.SUS/2017 on November 1, 2017. He is found violating Article 2 Paragraph (1) juncto Article 18 Law on Corruption Crime. In the ruling, the Supreme Court sentenced him to 8 years prison and fined him for Rp200 million or extra 6 months prison if he couldn’t pay the fine. (dtc/rm)
