A gas station in Jakarta Selatan (ANTARA)
JAKARTA, GRES.NEWS – The Ministry of Trade, and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources must re-audit dispensers are gas stations as there has been a finding that gas stations manipulated gas dispensers for their own gain.
House of Representatives Commission VII member Mukhtar Tompo said ministry have not been assuring that gas stations meet standards for fuel dispensers as they rely too much on tera tests.
Therefore, he demands Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT) to audit the dispensers. In Semarang, Jawa Tengah, for instance, a gas station was found reducing 0.7 liter from 20 liter bought. So, the gas station has been reducing 0.35 liter for every purchase of a liter.
"That gas station sells 18-19 liters a day," Mukhtar said, Friday (05/1).
This phenomenon is damaging Pertamina’s image. Hence, Mukthar also suggests PT Pertamina, the energy ministry and the trade ministry to coordinate to resolve the issue. BPH Migas may bridge this crucial issue.
"I recommend the government to let BPPT create a tera test device for digital fuel dispensers," he said (rm)
