JAKARTA, GRES.NEWS – Indonesian Democratic Struggle Party (PDIP) has decided to cancel its support for Ridwan Kamil to move forward as a gubernatorial candidate in the 2018 Regional Election in Jawa Barat. PDIP will endorse Tubagus Hasanuddin and former Jawa Barat Regional Police Chief Anton Charliyan.
Tubagus Hasanuddin and Anton Charliyan have visited PDIP Central Executive Board (DPP) in Lenteng Agung, and the General Chairman of PDIP Party, Megawati Soekarno Putri, announced the candidacy of PDIP Party for the upcoming regional elections last Sunday.
Meanwhile, in governor candidate Ridwan Kamil’s Instagram account, Ridwan posted a picture of him and deputy governor candidate Uu Ruzhanul Ulum, which shows that he won’t be endorsed by PDIP Party.
"No, it’s not him (Ridwan Kamil)," said the Secretary of PDIP Regional Executive Board (DPD) in Jawa Barat, Abdy Yuhana, said via phone.
Abdy’s statement is different from his previous statement. Previously, he claimed that PDIP decided to endorse Ridwan Kamil in the upcoming Jawa Barat Gubernatorial Election. However, the information was unofficial.
However, PDIP changed its decision in one day. PDIP has decided to endorse its candidate, and won’t form a coalition with the other parties. (dtc/rm)
