JAKARTA, GRES.NEWS – The Constitutional Court has revoked the Jakarta governor Regulation No.195/2014 on Limitation of Motorcycles at Jalan MH Thamrin, Jakarta.
The Jakarta Police will comply with the ruling and will meet the Jakarta Government on Wednesday to synchronize both party’s perception on the ruling.
"We will discuss the technical procedure on Wednesday with the Jakarta Transportation Office and the Legal Bureau of the Jakarta Government," said Budiyanto, Chief of Law Enforcement, Jakarta Trafic Police, Monday (8/1).
The Constitutional Court ruled in favor of the plea filed by Yuliansah Hamid and Diki Iskandar to cancel the Jakarta Governor Regulation No.195/2014 on Limitation of Motorcycles at Jalan MH Thamrin, Jakarta.
Presiding Judge Irfan Fachruddin said the regulation clashes with higher regulations, namely Article 133, paragraph 1 of Law No.22/2009 on Traffic and Road Transportation, Article 11 Law on Human Rights and Article 5 and 6 of Law No.12/2011 on Issue of Regulations. Therefore, the regulation that was introduced by former Jakarta governor Ahok is no longer legally binding. (dtc/mfb)
