JAKARTA, GRES.NEWS - Two fugitives of different cases are finally detained in Salemba detainment facility in Central Jakarta. They are Samadikun Hartono, a convict of Indonesian Bank Liquidity Assistance (BLBI) corruption case and Hartawan Aluwi, a convict of Bank Century money-laundering and fraud case.
Both of them were fugitives, but they got a different treatment when they were arrested and executed. When Samadikun arrived in Indonesia, he arrived with a special airplane and got a "warm welcome". Meanwhile, Hartawan arrived in Indonesia with a commercial plane with his hands cuffed. Hartawan looked down and didn't respond when reporters asked him about his case when he was going to be executed to Salemba detainment facility by the execution prosecutor.
After he had handed the convict, Junior Attorney General for General Crimes (Jampidum) Noor Rochmad said the execution on Hartawan was done after the Central Jakarta State Court sentenced him to four years prison.
The issue attracts the attention of the House's Commission III. A politician of Gerindra Party Andi Atgas criticized the special treatment on Samadikun.
However, the Attorney General's Office (AGO) declined. They stated that they didn't give special treatment to Samadikun.
The State Intelligence Agency's (BIN) Policy and Strategic Information Council Chairman, Dradjad Hari Wibowo, also declined that Samadikun received special treatment.
Dradjad delivered that Samadikun was not cuffed as BIN has no rights to arrest anyone. "BIN is not allowed to arrest people," Dradjad said in his written statement to the reporters, Friday (22/4).
The National Police Human Relations Division Chief Brig. Gen. Boy Rafli Amar explained that Hartawan was arrested in Singapore as his permanent resident in Singapore got revoked on January 2016.
The police then coordinated with the Singapore authoriteies. Then, the Singaporean Government deported Hartawan and he was handed to the police criminal investigation agency (Bareskrim).
Hartawan left Indonesia since 2008 and lived in Singapore. Hartawan was the commissioner and the shareholder of PT Antaboga Delta Sekuritas Indonesia. On August 6, 2015, the Central Jakarta State Court sentenced him to 14 years prison.
