JAKARTA, GRES.NEWS - The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has warned Samadikun Hartono, a convict of the corruption of Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance (BLBI) for Bank Modern, to pay Rp169 billion in restitution this year. If he couldn't pay the restitution, the AGO will confiscate his assets and auction them.
The warning was delivered by the AGO as Samadikun didn't pay the first installment before the appointed deadline; the deadline was on May 31, 2016. Despite this, they paid Rp21 billion yesterday.
Although he has paid the first installment, Junior Attorney General for Specific Crime (Jampidsus) Arminsyah said the AGO executors still expect Samadikun to pay the total restitution worth Rp169 billion immediately.
Armin ensured if Samadikun didn't pay the restitution immediately, the AGO will confiscate his assets and auction them to cover the restitution he couldn't pay. Until today, the AGO has confiscated some of his assets, which consist of a certificate for a building and land at Jalan Jambu, Menteng, Central Jakarta. The assets are predicted worth Rp50 billion. The executor team will also confiscate his other assets.
Previously, Attorney General HM Prasetyo asked the executor team to refuse the way of Samadikun's restitution payment by installment as the AGO considered that Samadikun's assets are enough to pay the whole restitution.
The Director of Legal, Execution, and Examination Efforts (Uheksi), Ahmad Zainuri, asserted that Prasetyo warned Samadikun as he didn't obey the order without any reason. Despite this, Samadikun's family agreed to pay the first installment on May 31, 2016.
Then, the executor team from Central Jakarta Prosecutor's Office warned Samadikun to pay the first installment. If he hasn't paid the first installment worth Rp42 billion by November 31, all of his assets will be confiscated and auctioned.
