KPK Confirms Rating Trade Behind Bribe to BPK Auditors

JAKARTA, GRES.NEWS – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has confirmed that the bribe money to two Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) auditors was an effort from Ministry of Underdeveloped Regions and Transmigration executives to acquire the reasonable without exception (WTP) rating for their ministry.

KPK Chairman Agus Rahardjo said the ministry wanted the WTP rating for their 2016 budget-use performance. In 2015, the ministry obtained the reasonable with exception (WDP) rating.

"They (the perpetrators) were in initial talks to have the ministry’s rating upgraded from WDP to WTP," Agus said at his office, Jakarta, Saturday (27/5).

The suspects rom said ministry intended to pay Rp240 million. Meanwhile, in the break-in operation, KPK confiscated Rp40 million. "They intended to party 40 million first and Rp200 million later," Agus further revealed.

BPK spokesperson Yudi Ramdan Budiman said the Ministry of Underdeveloped Regions and Transmigration obtained the WTP rating in 2016. "Based on the central government’s financial report, the ministry obtained the WTP rating," Yudi said, Saturday (27/5).

In the case, KPK has named four suspects They are Sugito and Jarot Budi Prabowo from the Ministry of Underdeveloped Regions and Transmigration, and BPK auditors Saptogiri and Ali Sadli.

"In the break-in operation, KPK confiscated Rp40 million from the office of ALS (Ali Sadli)," said Febri Diansyah, Head of Public Relations Bureau, KPK, Jakarta, Saturday (27/5).

Meanwhile, Minister of Underdeveloped Regions and Transmigration, Eko Putro Sandjojo, said he was unaware of the bribe attempt. "I never knew. Ask the persons involved," he said, in a press conference at his office, Jakarta, Saturday (27/5).
