Online merchandising is one of the businessmen’s methods to sell or promote their products and services. Online merchandising is the transaction of goods and services that transfer the goods and services ownership as an exchange of receiving compensations by using an electronic system.
According to Law No.19/2016 on Electonic Information and Transactions (ITE Law), an electronic system is a set of devices and electronic procedures to prepare, collect, manage, analyze, save, show, announce, send, and/or spread electronic information.
Businessmen who use the electronic system are obliged to give accurate information about the products and services they sell. It is regulated by Article 65 paragraph 1 Law No.7/2014 on Commerce that mentions:
Businessmen who sell products and/or services by using the electronic system must provide complete and accurate data and/or information.
